Prepare Your Details
Keep your passport and personal information ready, and prepare your arrival and accommodation details.
Review Your Details
Check your information carefully before submission.
These are general preparation steps, not a verified walkthrough of a working application. Nothing on this page is an application form.
Step 1 — Check the requirements applicable to your journey
Before preparing anything, find out how the MDAC relates to your own journey.
- Consider your nationality, the type of travel document you will use and the circumstances of your journey. Each may affect the requirements.
- If you are travelling for study or employment, or using special travel documents, a border arrangement or a transit itinerary, check the requirements for that situation.
- Requirements can differ from one traveller to the next, so check what applies to your own journey before making travel arrangements. This website gives general guidance and cannot decide this for you.
Step 2 — Prepare passport and personal information
These are suggestions. The applicable form decides what is actually requested.
- Take out the passport you intend to travel with.
- Note the passport number, country of issue and expiry date exactly as printed.
- Write down your full name, date of birth and nationality as they appear in your travel documents.
- Have an email address and telephone number, with the country or dialling code, that you can access.
Step 3 — Organise travel and accommodation information
Keep your journey and stay details together so they are easy to check.
- Write down your expected arrival date, your departure date where applicable, and your intended arrival location.
- Gather flight or other transportation details, including your place of departure where requested.
- Note where you expect to stay: accommodation name if applicable, address, and city or location in Malaysia.
- Note the purpose and planned length of your visit.
- Travelling with others? Keep each traveller's passport and journey details separate.
Step 4 — Review the information carefully
Check everything against your documents before you use it.
- Compare each detail with your travel documents, paying attention to spellings, numbers and dates.
- Read the whole set through and correct any differences you notice.
- Make sure it still matches your current plans. If dates, transport or accommodation change, review it again before using it.
Before Proceeding — Important Preparation Reminders
- These steps are general preparation advice, not requirements of the MDAC.
- What applies to you can change with your circumstances and with the rules that are current when you travel.
- Small differences between your details and your documents can cause confusion.
- Keep a note of the details you have prepared.
